The second tier in both countries is competitive and most teams will have a handful of good young players that you can keep in your squad for a long time. I have a lot of fun starting in the second tier of Italy or Germany and then trying to win the top division as quickly as possible. After that, you just steamroll the league, but those 2-3 years until you get there are great. It's really competitive and fun for a couple of seasons if you don't take FCSB or CFR Cluj. They should produce good talent over time. Farul is a team with a great academy built by Gh. FCSB is still in a legal battle with CSA Bucuresti over the Steaua Bucharest brand (won the champions league in 1986). They have never been relegated until now. Dinamo Bucharest is a powerhouse but irl they're bottom of the table. Rapid Bucharest, UEFA Cup quarter final around 15 years ago, got relegated to the last tier and it's their first season back up. you have a lot of challenges to try: Rapid Bucharest, Dinamo Bucharest, Petrolul Ploiești, Poli Timișoara, UTA, all teams with great tradition and ambitions but plagued by bad finances. (Egypt counts as non EU, but ivory coast, cameroon, south agrica, nigeria, etc don't) only 4 non EU players allowed in the 25 player squad, buuut a lot of african nationalities do not count. First place in the playout qualifies for a euro cup playoff against teams in the playoff. 30 matches, then top 6 teams go into the playoff but with half the points.if you're 12 points behind at the end of the regular season, you'll be only 6 behind in the playoff.
you always have to play 1 U21 player (in the cup you have 2 play 2 in the starting lineup) I left Annagh in 2042 as I was playing it as an academy challenge and we just seemed to hit a wall in terms of the quality of our intake players and were unable to produce anything better.but I've been checking in on them recently and they are now producing much higher potential players that wouldn't be out of place in the English Championship and I'm tempted to go back and make use of this new generation of youth players. Even after that, it took me about 5 years to get Annagh United up to the DBPL from the PIL so all of this stuff up until about 2032 happened without any influence from me. By 2040, that 2021 best player with 95CA wouldn't even make it into their squad as a backup as their entire first team squad had a minimum of 100CA.
